Wildlife & Wetland Solutions returned to the County to treat the invasive species known as Japanese Knotweed and Phragmites. This concluded treatment for 2019. We would like to thank Kewaunee County and all the landowners who worked with us to identify invasive species on their properties. We will be updating treatment maps that show the locations to illustrate where herbicide was used on Wild Parsnip, Japanese Knotweed, and Phragmites in 2018 and 2019. It is important to note that although we cannot eradicate invasive species, we can control the spread with a collaborative approach. Long term maintenance, monitoring, and physical and chemical treatment is necessary. If you would like more information on the Kewaunee County Invasive Species Management Plan we are creating in cooperation with the county’s Land and Water Conservation Department, please contact Madison Smith or Kate Nelson at 920.448.2820. If your property was not treated, we apologize that we were unable to treat every property, but we can assist with providing resources to help landowners treat their own property and recommended techniques.
